We come in many colors
We come in
After “Masta” plucked the virgin cherry from our womb,
He spit forth the seed into fertile ground.
We sprouted forth into a rainbow of colors.
Before the Mayflower, we only came in black.
We now come in many colors
From tangerine to cherry,
From lemon to mahogany,
From honey to coal-black.
Let our rainbow colors bear witness;
Beauty can spring forth from evil.
